Sports Cake

Sports Cake
Wish I could have had time to do a "re-do" on this one. It was a last minute request and my time was limited to a late night cake.
First, when you use Super Brown tint, it means Super Brown! It turned way too dark brown. Then I decided to just place the top cake on the bottom cake with no cardboard under it. Little did I know it had to travel to the party. I hope it makes it!! After I got it all together, I thought I probably should have added a bottom layer thinking it might be too small. Finally, I decided to ice the cake board with a grass tip giving it the look of a larger cake. But, it's still cute! Live and Learn!

Made this one for our youngest grandson, Everett, for his 2nd Birthday.
At first he was a little frighten by it, but later enjoyed eating his head!

Here's Lainey's Puppy Cake!
Kate and Lainey, my nieces, helped ice this one. They enjoyed doing their part and I think they learned a little too.
I use one 10in pan and two 6in pans. Placed one 6in at bottom of 10in for the nose and shaped one 6in for the ears. Fondant for the tip of the nose and tongue. Truffles for the eyes and ribbon for the bows. Also used the grass tips for covering cake. Easy breezy!! Oh, and cut out fondant for lettering.

Super Hero Cake.
This cake took so much time because I handmade all the logos for the Cake out of fondant. I hand cut each star, hand painted each batman bat, hand painted black webs on Spiderman's faces, and hand cut lighting bolts for Flash! I cut each the logo circles from fondant also. The Cake is frosted with Butter Cream icing. It was one 10 inch, two 8 inch and one 6 inch layer. As you can see, I also made 24 cupcakes iced in buttercream with plastic superhero rings on top. Whew, took all day and almost all night!!!

Neon Pink and Green Cake

This Cake was my FIRST FONDANT CAKE!
Two six, two eight, and one ten inch layers. I crumb coated it, then put a thin coat of buttercream over all.
Then I added the neon pink fondant and applied a fondant ribbon tinted neon green. Fresh flowers were added right before the party. This was for a precious 15 year old girl upon her adoption. I've got to learn how to make my own fondant because this was an expensive cake!

Mickey Mouse Baseball Cake

Little Noah wanted a Mickey Mouse Baseball Cake for his 3rd Birthday. I had a pretty hard time coming up with a design for this one. I used a Ball pan and placed it atop a large sheet cake. I used black fondant and shaped the ears cap and placed them on top of the baseball. I used a grass tip for the butter cream grass, crumbled vanilla wafers for dirt and white fondant for the bases. I also cut out tiny Mickeys from black fondant  and placed them around the sides of the cake. I wanted to place ball players on the bases, but could not find any, so I used candles instead. Noah loved it and that made it all worth while!

Bug Catcher Cake

Here's a cute and fairly easy cake I did for a special little 5 year old boy, Trey. He was having a bug catcher party. This was a 3 layer cake iced with butter cream and a fondant handle with fondant lettering. The hardest part was shaping the top layer into a "U" shape for the top of the cage. I used a long piece of floral wire to imprint my screen lines across the cake, that helped to keep them straight. That was it...... thaa daah!!
